Special Announcement by the Special Environmental Task Force

It has come to the notice of the Special Environmental Sanitation Task Force that most premises are now in a deplorable condition following the removal of illegal structures that were attached to them.

2. These premises are presently very unkept as a result giving the metropolis an ugly look

3. In view of this, the Special Environmental Sanitation Task Force hereby directs the immediate removal of the debris and the painting of all premises particularly along the major roads in Warri South, Uwvie and Udu Local Government Areas.

4. Owners and occupiers of such premises have two weeks starting Wednesday May 14, 2014 within which their houses must be painted and their environment thoroughly cleaned up.

5. Premises where sewage is discharged into the public drains, those with rough fences and unsightly environment should correct such observed lapses while those still using containers as well as similar structures to display wares should remove them immediately.

6. All premises, Estates, Plazas, Shops, Places of worship, Eateries and other Business Centers in the area are to also make arrangements to use the waste collectors assigned to their respective areas as all forms of illegal dumping of waste is not allowed.

7. Please note the existence of the Mobile Courts to try all those who contravene sanitation laws while House to House inspection by Environmental Health Officers will be intensified.

8. Adequate punishment will be meted out to environmental sanitation offenders

9. Members of the public should please take this announcement seriously.
