Nigerian Breweries PLC, has reported a loss in its revenue of about -0.7% and a drop in gross profit of -6.5%, compared to 2019, despite the positive start to the year, 2020, blaming the downturn on the lockdown occasioned by the COVID-19 Pandemic.
The Finance Director of Nigerian Breweries PLC, Rob Kleinjan, who made the disclosure, stated: “We remain the leading company in the beer segment of the beverage sector, despite the effects of the pandemic and the new tax policies”.
The Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian Breweries PLC, Jordi Borrut Bell, on his part, explained that the company made a net revenue of N234.0Bn and an operating profit of N22.6Bn within the first 9 months of the 2020.
“We have a positive outlook for 2021, as we have started to witness a rebound in our revenue post-lockdown. We will focus on our customers and remain agile to sustain our growth in the beer sector”, Jordi Borrut Bell, emphasized.
