Construction work for a $50Bn Modular Refinery, LNG and Petrochemical plants in Koko, begins soon


Strong indications have emerged that construction work for the much anticipated $50Bn Modular Refinery, LNG and Petrochemical plants’ project situated in a 400-acre expanse of land at Koko, headquarters of Warri North Local Government Area, Delta State, will commence in the first quarter of this year, 2021, Fresh Angle International has authoritatively gathered.

  

This much was disclosed weekend to Your Fast Rising Tabloid, in exclusive telephone chat by Mr. Rowland Diamond E. Tonwe, the Group Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, CEO of Erowtons Group of Companies, the indigenous firm that owns the project.

The components of the multi-billion dollar project, expected to generate hundreds of direct and indirect jobs as well as boost the socio-economic life of the historic town of Koko/environs, include:

                                                           

 

1. 30,000BPD - (5 Units of 6,000 Each) Petroleum Modular Refinery Plants.

 

 

 

 

2. 3 Units Mobile Floating Refineries.

3. 500,000 Metric Tons Capacity Tank-Farm.

 

 

4. 5 Units Branded Mega Fuel Stations - 60 Pumps Each.

 

 

 

 

5. 300 MSCDF Natural Gas Processing Plant.

 

 

 

 

6. 1 Unit Petrochemical Processing Plant.

 

7. 1 Unit International Standard Oil & Gas Export Terminal.

8. 500 MW Solar Power Plant.

 

 

 

 

9. 1 Unit Mini Heliport.

10. 1 Unit Helicopter and

11. Standard Administrative Block.

 

Other supporting facilities are:

1. 500 Units International Standard Housing Resort.

 

 

 

 

2. 500 Units International Standard Oil & Gas Trade Center.

3. 1 Unit Three Star Hotel

 

 

 

This Newspaper understands that the multi-faceted project is totally an offshore funding arrangements. The funding partners were reportedly in Nigeria sometime in December 2020, to conclude the funding arrangements with the promoter.

 

Feed-stocks will be sourced from Chevron and NPDC through the Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, while the benefiting communities would include Koko, Ureju, Eghoro, Tisun and Bresibi.

 

Mr. Rowland Tonwe, disclosed that huge amount has been budgeted for Constant Electricity Supply, Roads, Constant Water Supply, Housing, Training programmes, Job opportunities as well as Women and Youth Empowerment programmes for the benefiting riverine communities.
