The fastest-growing Warri based Media Company, FRESH ANGLE NIGERIA LIMITED, owner of Fresh Angle International Newspaper (an Online Media) has signed a Content Licence Agreement with US based SyndiGate Media Inc.
The agreement, which is for an initial period of three years, subject to renewal, became effective January 28, 2021.
SyndiGate owns and operates online information services that facilitate the protection, aggregation, programming, distribution, search and retrieval of digital media content of all types.
While the Editor –In-Chief /Co-Publisher of Fresh Angle International Newspaper, Mr. Ebule Anthony Metsese, signed on behalf of the 11-year old Delta State based Tabloid, the Director, Content Sales & Licensing, SyndiGate™, Mark Gatty Saunt, signed: “For and on behalf of SyndiGate Media Inc.”
The deal; “Grants SyndiGate a non-exclusive, worldwide, non-transferable, perpetual licence to use, market, make available, distribute, sell, transmit, store and archive the Licensed Content via the Services and Third Party Services, as well as to act as a collective rights management organisation on behalf of Licensor (FRESH ANGLE NIGERIA LIMITED) by collecting royalties and fees associated with the copying, usage, re-distribution, or re-publishing of the Licensed Content worldwide”.
The Content License Agreement, implies that SyndiGate shall pay Fresh Angle International Newspaper a quarter of every dollar received from the distribution or usage of the Licensed Content via the Services and Third Party Services, while the US based Media Company will also provide FRESH ANGLE NIGERIA LIMITED, access to monitor the in-flow of royalties.
The Managing Editor/Co-Publisher of Fresh Angle International Newspaper, Mr. Asare Michael Segun, in his reaction, described the Content License Agreement between the two companies, as a sign of greater things to come, saying: “It is a testament of the Editorial Policy of our Company, which is anchored on originality and strict adherence to the high ethical standard of Journalism, devoid of any iota of plagiarism”.
