A Non-Governmental Organization, Search for Common Ground, has commenced process to create local structure that would take over peace building in their communities, associations, churches and other public groups, in the quest to ensure effective conflict management and mitigation.
Fresh Angle International can report that this was the main fallout of a two-day seminar on Conflict Management and Mitigation, held between Monday and Tuesday March 15 and 16 respectively at Asaba, Delta State, by the Search for Common Ground.
The training was attended by 20 participants from professional bodies and associations, such as NBA, NUJ, community leaders and business owners. They were drawn from four local government areas in Delta State.

The training was also targeted at providing participants with fresher understanding of conflict, deepening their knowledge and skills on conflict and management styles as well as deepening participants’ knowledge and skills on the danger of violence and its mitigation.

Addressing the participants during the opening ceremony, the Project Co-ordinator of Search for Common Ground, Mr. Boco Taretain, explained that the project was aimed at bringing farmers and herders to the dialogue table and create local structure that would be able to take over peace building in their communities, associations, churches and other public groups.
