Peace and Security: Tidi goes tough on Warri Communities

Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi, has stressed that peace and security is the first agenda of his policy drive, saying the Executive of Warri South Council, will no longer allow communities in the local government area arrogate powers do not have to themselves, in the resolve to consolidate on the existing peace and security in the local government.

Dr. Tidi, who warned against preventing security agents from carrying out their legitimate assignment in the communities, stressed the need to guide against what will lead to crime in the environment.

Fresh Angle International can report that the Warri South Local Government Chief Security Officer, spoke Tuesday April 27, at the Warri South Council Main Secretariat in Warri, while inaugurating five new Supervisors to oversee various departments in Warri South Local Government Council.

While noting that he will not hesitate to dismiss any Supervisor found wanting in the course of carrying out his or her assignment, Dr. Tidi, enjoined the newly inaugurated Supervisors, to initiate fresh ideas that would move the administration forward, even as he tasked the Supervisor for Environment to take the environmental sanitation drive of his administration to the rural and urban areas of Warri South Council.

A former Supervisor for Environment and Health, Ms Patricia Edun, was assigned the portfolio of Supervisor for Environment, while Sunny Bodor, Oghenetega Kokoyo, Egboboyen Ovigwe Eniye and Sunny Mabiaku Omene, were assigned the portfolios of Health, Agriculture, Education as well as Youth, Sports and Culture, respectively.

The Supervisor for Environment, Patricia Edun, who responded on behalf of her colleagues, assured that they will not take the call to service for granted, promising to do everything possible to achieve the administration’s policy targets.

The members representing Warri South Constituency I and II in Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Augustine Uroye and Hon. Matthew Poko Opuoru respectively, Chairman of PDP in Warri South, Vice Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Chief (Mrs.) Divine Ann Iniovosa, Mr. Johnson Agbeyegbe, immediate past Secretary to the Warri South Local Government, Mr. Joseph Oribioye, Security Chiefs in the area, some past and present Councilors as well as Supervisors in Warri South and Warri South Council Head of Personnel Management, Dr. (Mrs.) Minnie Igbrude, were among dignitaries that graced the ceremony.
