The Senator representing Delta North at the National Assembly, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has charged Nigerians to key into the transformation agenda of the President – Goodluck Jonathan-led administration especially in the area of job creation.
Dr. Okowa gave the charge in Asaba during the 1st memorial anniversary celebration of late Mama Angleina Onyebuchi Azinge, mother of the Director General of the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, where some persons were empowered through the Entrepreneurship Foundation set up by the Azinge family in memory of their late mother.
He stated that Nigerians must work towards raising entrepreneurship to assist the government in creating employment, noting that government alone cannot do everything and enjoined Nigerians to join hands with President Jonathan in his efforts to reduce unemployment in the country.
“Individuals, communities and corporate organizations must go the extra miles to partner with government in the effort to boost the standard of living of the citizens “as according to him, such would go a long way in transforming the Nigerian socio-economic landscape.
While commending the Azinge family for conceiving such a laudable initiative which he noted would create employment for some Nigerians, Dr. Okowa reminded Nigerians particularly the youths that the much sought after white collar jobs are no longer there, adding that government cannot channel all its resources to paying salaries, as doing that would impact negatively on its capital expenditure.
Dr. Okowa praised President – Goodluck Jonathan for the numerous reforms currently being carried out by his administration, which he said would impact positively on the Nigerian economy in the long run.
