PDP stalwart and convener, Delta United For Tony Obuh, DUF, Chief Ayirimi Emami says proven technocrat and surprise gubernatorial hopeful in Delta State, Tony Obuh “is more than a politician”.

Chief Emami who was apparently responding to reactions that have trailed the surprise emergence of Tony Obuh both within and outside the PDP as a front runner for Delta State Government House come 2015 made the declaration Sunday August 17 in Effurun during a meeting of DUF held at the private residence of PDP Chairmanship candidate for the October 25, 2014 local government poll, Hon. Baro Minabonwanre.

He reaffirmed their stance that the next Delta State governor must come from Delta North Senatorial District, hence their decision to back Tony Obuh’s aspiration as initiated by top hierarchy of the PDP in the state.

While describing Oghara as the place where “the Bishop of politics is coming from”, Chief Emami appealed to DUF members to take the Tony Obuh campaign as a serious business.

Speaking in the same vein, Majority Leader of Delta State House of Assembly, Chief Monday Igbuya enjoined members of the group to remain steadfast towards the actualization of Tony Obuh gubernatorial aspiration and promised to carry on the campaign to Asaba with a view to sensitizing all Deltans on the need for Tony Obuh to become the next governor of Delta State.

Our Senior Correspondent reports that Chief Michael Jonny spoke on behalf of Ijaws of Delta South, urging every PDP member to remain in the party and forget the idea of decamping or planning anti party activities as a result of recent developments within the party.

Fresh Angle can report that members of the group have decided to kick-start their statewide consultation on the Obuh aspiration from Ogbe-Ijoh, Warri South-West Local Government on Friday August 22, 2014.
