Despite speculations making the rounds that Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State may have settled for Sir Tony Chuks Obuh as his successor, the Senator representing Delta North in the National Assembly, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, would on Monday, October 20, 2014, formally declare his interest to contest the Governorship seat of Delta State.
Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, a leading gubernatorial aspirant and a grassroots politician will run under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Fresh Angle has learnt.
In a statement issued in Asaba, the Director - General, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa''s Campaign Organisation, Hon. Festus Ovie Agas, said the declaration will hold at the Arcade Ground, Asaba, by 10am.
The statement urged all Deltans including members of the Delta Political Vanguard (DPV), a political pressure group whose membership spread across the twenty - five local government areas of Delta State to endeavor to be at the Arcade Ground in Asaba early enough for the event.
Furthermore, the Director - General said Senator Okowa's well thought out programmes, “PROSPERITY FOR ALL DELTANS” will be unveiled at the declaration.
He also disclosed that there will be solidarity messages from organizations and individuals from all walks of life on the moral imperative of having Senator Okowa as successor to Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan in 2015.
