His Royal Highness, Ejeh of Dekina, Dr. Usman Obaje, who doubles as the Northern Traditional Leaders Committee member representing Kogi State on COVID-19 Vaccine Sensitization, has called on communities across the 21 Local Government Areas of Kogi State, to come out en-mass to receive the COVID-19 Vaccine.

Our Kogi State Correspondent reports that HRH Ejeh Dekina made the call, when he received Yemi Balogun, a Social Media influencer working on the Equitable Recovery Project in Collaboration with Center for Information Technology and Development, CITAD with support from MacArthur Foundation.

Dr. Obaje disagreed with the insinuation that the COVID-19 Vaccine kills.

"As a member of the Northern Traditional Leader Committee and a nominee of the state government on Covid-19 vaccine Sensitization, I want to tell Kogi community categorically, that the Covid-19 Vaccine does not kill. It is safe, it is not harmful. When you get vaccinated, you protect yourself and family members from diseases. Remember that prevention is better than cure".

He said the vaccine distribution remains a mission to the Kogi community, to ensure that no one was left behind and to also prevent any form of disease from attacking members of its community.

"Let all the men, women and all those who are qualified in all the nooks and crannies of Kogi come out for vaccination. I have taken it and I didn't react at all. The vaccine is just like every other injection which some may react to in a very mild way and some will not react at all". He observed.

In his goodwill message to Christians as they celebrate the Christmas festival, he urged them to encourage their family members to receive the vaccine, while wishing them a happy celebration and a prosperous new year.

He commended all state actors working assiduously, to give correct information that will change the negative perception of the people towards  the vaccine.
