Re-contest to sustain your quality, robust representation – WGPM tells Ereyitomi

A political pressure group by the name Warri Grassroots Political Movement, WGPM, has placed a demand on the Member Representing Warri Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Chief (Dr.) Thomas Ereyitomi, asking him to re-contest Warri Federal Constituency Seat in the 2023 general elections, so as to sustain your (Chief Ereyitomi) quality and robust representation”.

 

Fresh Angle International can report that members of WGPM, placed the demand, Tuesday January 11, when they paid solidarity visit to Chief Ereyitomi in Warri, Delta State.

                                        

Warri Grassroots Political Movement, which has renowned academic and grassroots leader, Dr. Martins Ejueyitsi Otuedon as National Coordinator, is membered by former political leaders at the local government councils and wards as well as professionals.

 

Members of WGPM include, ex two-term Vice Chairman of Warri North Local Government Area; Hon. Sunny Abilo, Former Vice Chairman of Warri South-West Local Government Area; Hon. Blexon Omadoye, the immediate past Leader of Warri South Legislative Arm, Rt. Hon. Kingsley Edafiajebre, two-time Chairman, House Committee on Peace and Security in Warri South Legislative Arm, Hon. Kingsley Tenumah, Delta State President of National Council of Women’s Societies, Mrs. Helen Tsitse Bob Manuel and Mrs. Edith Odafe, who is secretary of the group.

 

Speaking on behalf of WGPM, the National Coordinator, Dr. Martins Ejueyitsi Otuedon, opined that the manner Chief Ereyitomi, has represented Warri Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, has been unprecedented, “since the creation of Warri Federal Constituency, hence we want you to continue representing us at the National Assembly”.

 

Dr. Otuedon, outlined achievements of Chief Ereyitomi in less than three years at the House of Representatives, to include construction of one block of six classrooms at Obodo Community, water project serving over 200 communities across Warri South, Warri South-West and Warri North Local Government Areas, equipping of Health centre as well as enrollment of over 3,000 constituents for NECO and more than 2,000 for JAMB.

 

According to Dr. Otuedon, other strides of Chief Ereyitomi, are the renovation of Erejuwa Grammar School, Ode-Itsekiri, human capital development, provision of speedboats and fishing tools to some constituents, presentation of tricycles, sponsoring of bills such as Federal Fisheries Institute as well as School of Nursing and Midwifery.

 

“Yield to our call and re-contest for the seat, you don’t have opposition, you will win landslide in 2023”, WGPM declared.

 

 

While responding to the demand, Chief Ereyitomi commended the group for their solidarity and described their visit as overwhelming, promising to consider the request after wide consultation.
