Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area in Delta State, Dr. Michael Tidi, says the finesse deployed by Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa in unifying the diverse ethnic interests in Delta State, is needed to rebuild the Peoples Democratic Party, reposition the party towards winning the presidency next year and ultimately unite the different tribes as well as religious divides in the country.

Dr. Tidi, who spoke weekend on the backdrop of recent development within the PDP, posited that the calm disposition of Dr. Okowa amid pockets of dissenting views on his nomination as Vice Presidential candidate of the PDP, " is a rare virtue associated with an ideal statesman and bridge builder, which our party should leverage on in the collective resolve to rescue Nigeria."

Whilst assuring PDP faithful across the country of Governor Okowa's dedication and determination to work with the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to bring aggrieved members of the party together ahead of the forthcoming polls, Dr. Tidi, advised PDP faithful to avoid utterances that are inimical to the peace - building process of the party.

He restated his earlier promise of mobilizing massive grassroots support for the Atiku/ Okowa ticket in Warri South Local Government Area, expressing optimism that PDP would garner more votes in Delta State, other states in the South - South and the South - East in the 2023 elections, because of  Dr. Okowa.
