MOVEMENT’ claims responsibility for destruction of Chevron’s RMT 14 Dibi Field Facility

A group, which identified itself as the ‘MOVEMENT”, has excused Dibi Field Communities’ protesters of the infraction that occurred Monday July 11 at Chevron’s RMT 14 Dibi Field Facility, claiming responsibility for breach of the facility instead.

‘MOVEMENT’ in a controversial Whatsapp message sent to Fresh Angle International in the wee hours of   Wednesday July 13, declared: “We members of the MOVEMENT team, do hereby bear out the Dibi field communities’ protesters as not culpable in the destruction of the RMT 14 at Junction 19, but We DID!

“Because over the years, Chevron has treated our demands for survival with impunity and she has customarily disregarded our solemn requests few of which I will list in a bit. Rather than feel the pain and suffering reflected in appeals and entreaties her for empowerment so we, members of the host communities could survive, Chevron chose  to pander to the interests of a selected few, who have turned affluent at the expense of a larger number of these communities, to the end that, while the real  poverty overwhelmed, peasants in these  host communities  are economically stressed up, livid and are at their death throes, jumping from one foot to the other, in a bid to keep afloat, Chevron is running clientelism with the super-rich and extremely selfish so-called 'leaders', a villainous set of vampires, fulfilling partisan interests, while unknown to them, this environment of neglect, poverty  and destruction of our lives and communities, which their administrative policies of suppression and neglect of the main host communities' peasantries, which her endless honeymoon with these traitors, has left in their trails, ideally served as fertile ground to culture and breed a set of people like us, now sworn hard against, and bound by a vindictive determination  to unleash a systematic incapacitation of Chevron's Operations in our Communities”.

The hugely controversial message, credited to a certain Mr. Emmanuel Tagbanaraewumi, secretary of the group, added: “What is playing out between Chevron and the peasants of the host communities, here could for analogy be likened to a gluttonous mother already eaten to her fill and drunk to stupor, together with her lovers (who are the so called leaders) and have gone deaf to the cries of starving children, who are too hungry but at intervals are jolted from their slumbers to call out for succor to a mother(Chevron) with seared conscience and already filled, constipated and obviously dead to the reality of the anguish  her policies and operational philosophies have caused us.

“So, in a nutshell, we, the MOVEMENT created by Chevron's administrative wickedness and utter indifference to the survival of the peasants of these 3 host communities, has pledged that Chevron must be served on a golden platter, some measure of the pills of grief we have been receiving from her to wake her up to the mess she has made with her host communities. to jolt her up from her deep sleep and flagrant disregard for host communities and also the spell on her compelling her continual empowerment of the super-rich greedy  'leaders' to the chagrin of others, who really need to keep afloat be reconsidered :  REMEMBER WE HAVE WARNED OVER TIME, BUT YOU CHOSE TO KEEP DEAF EARS THINKING IT WILL BE BUSINESS AS USUAL.

“So our demands for these 3 fields are as follows:

(1) Provision of portable  water

(2) Electricity.

(3) Employment of graduates across all three fields.

(4) A Relocation of Chevron H/Q from Lekki to Warri. 

(5) Repair of the Damaged line Point 1 and Point 2”.
