Passage of Orosuen of Okere-Urhobo: He chastised one in the closet, prayed for success afterwards, Tidi reveals

The Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area in Delta State, Dr. Michael Tidi, has described the transited Monarch of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom, Warri, His Royal Majesty, Sir. Emmanuel Ono Okumagba, Okumagba II, as a true father, confidant and “the kind of person that chastises one in the closet and pray for the person’s success afterwards”.

 

Fresh Angle International can report that Dr. Tidi, made the declaration in Warri, Delta State, Monday July 18, when he led a high-powered delegation of members of the Executive and Legislative Arms of Warri South Local Government Council, on a condolence visit to Okere-Urhobo Traditional Council of Chiefs, following the announcement of the passage of the Orosuen of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Sir. Emmanuel Ono Okumagba, Okumagba II.

The Warri South Local Government Chief Executive, who was flanked by his Vice, Chief (Mrs.) Divine Ann Iniovosa, Deputy Leader of Warri South Legislative Arm, Rt. (Hon.) Oris Eyikimi, Principal Officers of the Legislative Arm and Members, Secretary to Warri South Local Government, Mr. Joseph Oribioye, Supervisors in the Council, Head of Personnel Management of Warri South Local Government Council, Dr. (Mrs.) Minnie Ajuwede Igbrude, Treasurer to the Local Government, Mr. Ugborugbo Moses and other strategic personnel, noted: “When we got wind of his passage, we weren't ourselves. It is a personal loss”.

 

Whilst noting that the Head of Personnel Management of Warri South Local Government Council, Dr. (Mrs.) Igbrude, was yet to come to terms with the news of the Monarch’s transition, Dr. Tidi, who handed a condolence letter to Chief (Brig. Gen.) Gold O. Eburu (Rtd.), on behalf of Warri South Local Government Council, disclosed: “His Excellency (Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State) had personal relationship with His Royal Majesty (Sir. Emmanuel Ono Okumagba, Okumagba II.) My administration will give the needed support to this kingdom, during this trying period”.

In his response, the Regent/ Otota (Spokesman) of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom, Chief (Brig. Gen.) Gold O. Eburu (Rtd.), stated inter-alia: “We are very glad to receive you. I am particularly glad, because you were part of the struggle to abort the departed journey of our Orosuen. Our God will bless you, you have shown how concern you are to us. We will try to keep the relationship you had with our Orosuen. On behalf of the Council of Chiefs, Elders and others, we thank you”.
