The 85th birthday anniversary of the renowned Warri historian, Pa. J.O.S Ayomike received a touch of royalty recently when the Itsekiri delegation from Benin City, Edo State presented the effigy from his Royal Highness, Ovbie – Oba Agharese Edun Akenzua to Pa J.O.S Ayomike.
The delegation asserted that the Benin senior Prince had found the birthday photograph in the press and wished to join others in wishing him well.
The effigy which was delivered by A.S. Mene and Hon. Vincent Jemide on behalf of Ovbie-Oba Agharese Edun Akenzua , brother to the revered Oba of Benin, also carried a lovely birthday card, having the following hand written inscription, “we admire your courage, we extol your knowledge, we pray for your continued good health and happiness”.
Fresh Angle gathered that the presentation took place when members of the respected Itsekiri Leaders of Thought were having a meeting at the residence of Pa. J.O. S Ayomike in Warri Sunday May 13, 2012. They were all amazed and speechless, but appreciative.
