Former Chairman, Association of Nigerian Authors, ANA, Abuja, Mr. Eriata Oribhabor, has charged budding writers to develop their writing skills and talents, stressing that they don’t have to be graduate of literature before they can write books.
Mr. Oribhabor stated this during the inaugural meeting of Warri Literary Society, WLS, held at Airport road, Effurun, Delta State.
While speaking on WLS-The Way Forward, The Author admonished upcoming writers to put their creativity to work by exhibiting their God-given talent and gift, adding “Literature is beyond boundaries, Poetry is effectual”. He assured them that no one will steal their work whenever they have the inspiration to write.
Speaking in the same vein, a writer, Mrs. Maero Ozako, enjoined upcoming writers to take a step ahead in other to move their dreams and visions forward. She encouraged them to always believe in themselves and never to give up on whatever they are doing.
Mrs. Ozako advised all young writers to always publish hard copy of their work because “nothing is impossible so long as they mean whatever they are doing”. Adding “inside every writer, there is a great potential inherent in them”.
One of the WLS Organizers, Chukwuamaka Stephen Ogwara, during his opening presentation, revealed the aim of WLS. According to him, “Our aim is to take WLS Literary work to the next level through the promotion of literature and arts in Warri and its environs via the mandate of Creativity for Posterity.

In an interview with Mrs. Atiba Adefola Adeshola, who is also a member of WLS organizers, she advised upcoming writers not to give up, noting, “there is value in whatever you write down with pen which will serve as a source of information to people and as well a reference point to them”. She urged all upcoming writers to keep the literary spirit alive in them, stressing that “dreams don’t die, but lives”.
