The Akulagba of Warri Kingdom and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress , APC, Chief Ayirimi Emami as well as prominent Gbaramatu Chief and stalwart of the APC , Chief Michael Johnny, Tuesday September 1, 2015 dragged the immediate past Secretary to Warri South-West Local Government, Mr. Victor Omunu, a renowned Ijaw community leader in the local government, Mr. Saturday Timinimi and over 500 new members into the APC.
The ceremony which marked the formal declaration of the APC members after under-going registration at their various wards in Warri South-West Local Government Area, held at the first ever secretariat of the APC recently secured 200 metres behind the Warri South-West Local Government Secretariat in Ogbe-Ijoh.
Addressing the teeming party faithful , Chief Ayirimi Emami admonished older members not to exhibit acts capable of discouraging new entrants of the APC and enjoined all members of the party to close ranks so as to brace up for subsequent elections.
He added that his formal defection to the APC which was greeted with celebration at the National level should be emulated by those at the grassroots, nothing that their membership has given rise to the local government area party secretariat for the first time since its inception.
Prominent Gbaramatu Chief, Michael Johnny on his part expressed optimism that a gubernatorial rerun is imminent in Delta State and members of the APC are prepared to take over government in the state at any time.
He assure aggrieved members of the party that all issues bothering them would soon be addressed and vowed that they will not allow anyone destroy the APC, even as he opined that the Ijaw Nation have suffered enough neglect under the ruler-ship of PDP.

The party’s flag bearer for Warri South-West Constituency in Delta State House of Assembly in the April 11, 2015 Governorship and House of Assembly polls, Mr. Smart Edema lauded the inauguration of the APC Local Government Area Party secretariat and appealed to members to work as one family in the quest to make the APC stronger in the state.
Chairman of APC, Warri South-West Local Government Area, Mr. Felix Ighonmieyetan had in his opening remark enjoined members of the party to work in unism with a view to preparing better for upcoming elections.
Two of the decampees, ex-PDP Chieftain and immediate past Secretary to Warri South-West Local Government, SLG, Mr. Victor Omunu and Saturday Timimini, both of whom spoke on behalf of the decampees, cutting across Itsekiri and Ijaw ethnic Nationalities, promised to bring their vast political as well as community leadership experiences to bear in the workings of the APC in the local government area.
They expressed belief that APC leadership will address the long years of infrastructural neglect and under-development in the area.
