Major controversy is brewing in Warri, Delta State, following the alleged disappearance of a 15-year old girl, Oluchukwu Maryjane Nzenwukwu from the custody of the Police ‘B’ Division, Warri, Fresh Angle International can report.

The missing Oluchukwu Nzenwukwu was accused of stealing a laptop belonging to their neighbor, one Mr. Okoyo at Sam Biddy Street off Nelson Williams Street, Warri and was arrested by the Police at ‘B’ Division Warri on Tuesday October 13, 2015.

According to a petition written to the Area Commander, Nigeria Police Force, Delta South Command by Ada Val Arenyeka & Co, Legal Practitioners and Human Rights’ activist on behalf of Mr. Joseph Nzenwukwu, father of the disappearing Oluchukwu Nzenwukwu, the whereabouts of Oluchukwu raises many questions as to how a 15-year old girl would escape from a locked cell, pass through the counter and go out of the gate of the Police Station without being noticed by anyone.

The petition signed by Alfred E. Ogunli ESQ on behalf of Ada Val Arenyeka & Co, further revealed that Mr. Joseph Nzenwukwu purportedly visited the Police Station at about 3pm the same day his daughter was arrested and met with the DCO ‘1’ the investigating Police Officer, who allegedly told him that his daughter was in their custody, adding that they were investigating the matter with a view to “recovering the money allegedly stolen” by Oluchukwu Nzenwukwu.

The girl’s father purportedly left the DCO ‘1’ and proceeded to the counter, where he claimed to have seen his daughter who “was placed in one of the cells and it was after seeing her that he went home at about 4pm”.

Anxiety however heightened at about 7:30 on the morning of Wednesday October 14, 2015 when five Policemen from the same ‘B’ Division, where Oluchukwu was kept in custody, entered Mr. Joseph Nzenwukwu’s house at Sam Biddy Close, “asking of the whereabouts of his 15-year old daughter”, saying Oluchukwu had escaped from cell.

The Human Rights’ Lawyers in their petition stated that “all efforts made by our client to speak with the IPO and /or the DPO have been rebuffed” and as at the time of this report, the whereabouts of the 15-year old girl was unknown.

They appealed to the Area Commander, Nigeria Police Force, Delta South Command to wade into the matter and urgently investigate it with a view to producing Miss Oluchukwu Maryjane Nzenwukwu and restoring her to her parents as well as family within the shortest possible time.
