The Political Adviser to the Governor of Delta State, Hon. Omimi Esquire, has stated that Monday October 26, 2015 victory of his Principal, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, at the Election Petitions Tribunal, was an act ordained by God Almighty.

Speaking with newsmen briefly after the judgment, Omimi noted that the emergence of Sen. Okowa as the governor of Delta State is a divine ordinance that no man could upturn.

“If you have been following the various court proceedings, you will see how mortal men were struggling to upturn what God has already structured to happen. I have told all who cared to listen that Governor Okowa will come out victorious at the end of the day. What we have seen is a reaffirmation of my earlier stand, that there will be no re-run in the State as strongly envisaged by many. Now, we can continue with delivering the dividends of democracy without the distractions of court litigations.

Omimi also encouraged the petitioners to show sportsmanship by accepting defeats and joining hands with other Deltans to give meaningful suggestions to the government on how the State could be transformed.

“Let me also use this medium to appeal to all the petitioners and their parties, to in the interest of the state, accept this judgment in good faith and join hands with the prosperity government of Okowa to move the State forward.

Our stand is that there is no victor and no vanquish. It is my humble believe that the spirit of patriotism and love for the state drove them into putting themselves forward to serve. It is on this note that I am appealing to them to shield their swords and allow the governor to focus on what he was elected to do”, he concluded.
