Fresh Angle International has scooped from very credible sources that the growing frustration of PDP members in Delta State, particularly those from Delta South Senatorial District came to the fore Monday November 9 when a delegation from the district dominated by Ijaw, Isoko and Itsekiri held a crisis talk with the State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa at Government House, Asaba.
The delegation which was led by the member representing Delta South Senatorial district at the National Assembly, Senator James Manager expressed strong reservation against the undue favour Delta Central enjoys from the Okowa administration to the disadvantage of Delta South which gave the governor block votes in the April 11, 2015 polls and cautioned the governor to correct the perceived marginalization to avoid a revolt in 2019 election.
It was reliably gathered that Governor Okowa’s argument in defence of his actions skewed in favour of Delta Central was the fact that the district produced the two gubernatorial candidates that contested against him in the last election.
The Governor’s position did not go down with the Delta South PDP leaders until he promised to do a lot in terms of appointments and other forms of empowerment before the end of December 2015.
It remains to be seen how far Governor Okowa can go in his promise because information is rife that he was yet to pay the numerous aides he hired since assuming office of Chief Executive of the State May 29, 2015.
