The Delta State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, C.A. Ajuyah (SAN) has revealed that Effurun in Uvwie local government area has the highest armed robbery pending cases in Delta state with a total number of 92.
Figures released by the state Ministry of Justice reveals that Ughelli has the highest number of kidnap cases pending, while Warri which is the commercial hub of the state presently has 8 kidnap cases pending and 50 armed robbery cases yet to be decided.
The State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Charles Ajuyah who addressed newsmen Thursday June 21 at the State Ministry of Information in Asaba, revealed that majority of the 337 civil litigations pending in the state are land related in Asaba, the state capital.
The Delta AG identifies occasional retirement or transfer of judges before whom such cases are pending as well as non appearance in courts by prosecution witnesses as challenges facing the ministry in the prosecution of criminal cases.
