President of African Development Bank, AfDB, Akinwumi Adesina, says he and his team, have raised a record $8.9 billion for the African Development Fund, ADF amid the current global economic crisis.

According to Adesina, the amount, is the highest recorded since the Fund was established 50 years ago (1972).

"African Development Fund (ADF) successfully mobilized $8.9 billion for its 16th replenishment, the highest in its 50 years history since establishment in 1972. I am deeply grateful to all the ADF donors. Together, we made history to support Africa’s low-income countries! ?"
