Credible pieces of information scooped by Fresh Angle International this morning, Monday December 19, revealed growing anxiety among residents of Ughoton in Okpe Local Government Area, Delta state, following fears of possible reprisal from a neighbouring Ijaw community, as a result of alleged murder of an unidentified Ijaw man at Ughoton on Friday December 16.
It was gathered that the said Ijaw man, refused to " settle" the vigilantes at Ughoton Community when he carried his crude oil products ( Suspected to have been siphoned illegally from a pipeline (s)) through Ughoton, enroute the upland for delivery.
The Ughoton Vigilante, purportedly led by the chairman, allegedly mobilized to the neighbouring Ijaw community and killed the man, whose wife just gave birth to a baby.
Apparently infuriated by the murder of one of their own, some youths in the said Ijaw community, embalmed the corpse of the man reportedly murdered by the Ughoton vigilantes and took it to the home of father of chairman of Ughoton vigilante on Saturday December 17.
As at this morning when this scoop was published, it was unclear if the corpse had been taken over by security agencies or returned to the Ijaw community, but indications emerged that some persons were already fleeing Ughoton, following speculations that youths from the Ijaw settlement, were gearing up for war.
