10 years after her demise, children of late Madam Josephine Eduviere Ajuyah, on Monday June 30, immortalized her with the donation of trophies to the Alderstown Special Primary School in Warri, Delta State.
While making the presentation on behalf of late Pa. Felix Asifo Ajuyah and late Madam Josephine Eduviere Ajuyah, the patriarch of the family, Dr. Oritsegbubemi Asifo Ajuyah, described sports as an integral part of teaching and learning process in schools, saying sports has become a mega-dollar enterprise and unifying force, bringing people of diverse languages, creeds, political, and verbal affiliations together.

Our Principal Correspondent, reports that Dr. Ajuyah, emphasized that breeding a younger generation, is the hallmark of all sports administrators, which necessitated their interest to partake in sports development.
One of the senior grandchildren of Madam Ajuyah, Obar David, who represented the Ajuyah family head, said the children of late Pa. Felix Asifo Ajuyah and late Madam Josephine Eduviere Ajuyah, felt the school needed trophies for the best-organized and the well-behaved houses in their annual inter-house sports competition; hence the decision to donate two trophies to the school.
Obar urged pupils of the school to sustain discipline, just as he advised the school management to make effective use of the trophies.
One of the children of late Madam Ajuyah, Mr. Ajuyah Oti Hendrix, a retired principal of Hussey College Warri, charged the school to sustain sports activities among the pupils, in order to produce more athletes and future champions.
The last born of late Madam Ajuyah, Mr. Roy Ajuyah, in his closing remarks, assured that the trophies will be replaced every five years in memory of their mother's good legacies.

One of the grandsons, Moye Ajuyah, who read the biography, said late Madam Josephine Eduviere Ajuyah, popularly called Mama Philie, the daughter of a Police Officer, was paternally from Ovwode Quarters in Oria-Abraka in Ethiope East Local Government Area, while maternally from Utagba-Uno in Ukwani Local Government Area, all of Delta State. She was born in the year 1933 (June 11th) and died 2015 (July) at the age of 82.
Moye Ajuyah, recalled: "Mama met and got married to the late Pa. Felix Asifo Ajuyah, a tin miner in Jos, Plateau State. Mama was amiable, honest, diligent, meticulous, creative, caring, purpose-driven, and a workaholic. Mama was very truthful and fearless, which was the reason why she had very few friends."
The head teacher of Alderstown Special Primary School, Warri, Mrs. Ejoh Boyo Joy, commended the Ajuyah family for the donation, assuring them of effective use of the trophies and token given to them.
Highpoint of the brief ceremony, was when Mr. Ajuyah Oti Hendrix, on behalf of the Ajuyah family, presented the trophies to the Head Teacher of Alderstown Special Primary School, Mrs. Ejoh Boyo Joy.
The Head of Personnel Management, HPM, Warri South Local Education Authority, LEA, Maryjane Onoghuvwu, Mrs. Onome Ajuyah, Mrs. Yemi, and Mrs. Sophia Ikponwomba, were among personalities that graced the ceremony.
