Member of Omadino Progressive Group, OPG, Comrade Jolomi Ikpere, has described Comrade Oritseweyinmi Emmanuel Agbenekuya Aginejuone's claim of plot by the Mr. Tuoyo Mogbeyiteren led Omadino Management Committee, to withdraw twenty five million naira ( N25 million) from Omadino Community account as attempt to " skew the facts of a matter to garner public sympathy and paint those sacrificing their time for community development in bad light ", saying : " The recent decision to renovate Nenuwa Town Hall, which is considered a monument with historical significance to the Omadino people, was made after due consultations."

Ikpere, who gave the explanation in a statement sent to Fresh Angle International this morning, Sunday December 25, noted: " The IRDC town hall is ongoing, but that is not NENUWA Town Hall. Whenever that town hall is completed by the IRDC, it will only complement our ancestral town hall and will not replace it as expected by Emma Lagos."

He emphasized: " I am constrained to write this rejoinder as an active follower of happenings in Omadino community. "This is only meant to dissuade the public from viewing current happenings from the myopic perspective of a “self-styled veteran litigant” who will skew the facts of a matter to garner public sympathy and paint those sacrificing their time for community development in bad light.

"It is on record that the Management Committee led by Tuoyo Mogbeyiteren has been very transparent in their dealings with  Omadino community, the latest evidence being the public presentation of the cheque the community got as compensation for oil spillage to the elders of the community. This has brought glowing praises to Tuoyo Mogbeyiteren and his team, many describing it as the first in Omadino community in recent years.

"To set the record straight, the recent decision to renovate the Nenuwa Town Hall, which is considered a monument with historical significance to the Omadino people, was made after the due consultations and in line with the usual transparency mantra of the management committee.

"On 15th November 2022, a 9-man project monitoring committee was appointed to amongst others, come up with a technical plan and associated cost to renovate the town hall. "This committee is ably chaired by Engineer Bemigho Edukugho. On --- the Committee submitted their report to an enlarged meeting of Management Committee and Council of Elders for consideration where their recommendations including the cost and modus operandi was scrutinised. The amount proposed by the committee was even cut down during the enlarged meeting and thereafter, there was consensus ratification, which formally granted a go ahead for the project to commence in earnest.

"From the foregoing, there is nothing “surreptitious’, it is not a decision taken by Management Committee or by Tuoyo Mogbeyiteren. Rather the management committee should be commended for their democratic disposition and openness in their dealings with the community. This is the true position of things.

"The IRDC town hall is ongoing but that is not NENUWA Town Hall. Whenever that town hall is completed by the IRDC, it will only complement our ancestral townhall and will not replace it as expected by Emma Lagos.

"For those, who may be wondering what my position is in the community, it is nothing other than one who will not hold back commendation for good works or sit on the fence and watch “self-styled” litigants take us back to where the community is coming from.

"I enjoin Emma Lagos ( Comrade Oritseweyinmi Emmanuel Agbenekuya Aginejuone) and others who are not following up with the actual happenings of things in Omadino community, to continue to positively engage and join hands with the current leadership to change the narrative of the past. The journey towards progress for Omadino Community has begun and as a matter of patriotism, we owe ourselves the duty to fuel this progress and when necessary , criticise for a better result only."
