A Christian cleric and member of Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, Pastor Sunny Ofoegbune says the fuel crisis presently rocking the Nation may linger because the Nigerian National Petroleum, NNPC does most of the fuel importation and supply to private depot owners without monitoring the distribution
Pastor Ofoegbune who spoke to Our Senior Correspondent Saturday April 2, in Warri during an exclusive chat, noted that the Pipeline and Product Marketing Company, PPMC, a subsidiary of the NNPC, has stopped allocating products to marketers and as a result, officials of the Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR can no longer monitor sales because of the deal struck with depot owners.
The cleric cum key player in petroleum marketing advised the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu to beam his search light on officials of NNPC, especially the Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company, WRPC if truly the Federal Government intends to stop the current fuel crisis.
He opined that those calling for the sack of the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources Dr. Kachikwu are enemies of Nigeria, considering the on-going reforms in the oil and gas sector.
