Group accuses Omo-Agege of trading 430 WRPC workers for contract
Senator Ovie Omo-Agege

The Itsekiri Youth for Good Governance, IYGG, has accused the Deputy Senate President and Delta State All Progressives Congress Governorship candidate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege of allowing the sack of 430 workers of Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company, WRPC, to purportedly gain contract with NNPC and give job slots to youths of Orogun Community.

The group in a statement sent to Fresh Angle International this morning, Wednesday March 8, alleged: “Senator Omo-Agege, is set to rewrite history by removing Warri Province from Delta State. He claimed that there is no such thing as Warri Province, but Itsekiri province.”

In the statement which was authored by the Coordinator and Secretary of Itsekiri Youth for Good Governance, Mone Oris and Eworitse Majemite, respectively, they claimed that Chief of Staff to Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Itive Igbuzor, is the sponsor of “the non-existent Wado City”, saying, “When he (Sen. Omo-Agege) was SSG, no other tribe, including the Urhobos, were able to gain access to the state government, except people from Orogun.”

Whilst stating: “We cannot allow such a person with ethnic bigotry and nepotism to rule Delta State, because the State has grown beyond ethnic bigotry and nepotism”, IYGG, declared: “We are calling on all Deltans and mostly Itsekiris, to reject Omo-Agege. The Chief of Staff to Omo-Agege in his Tweet and Facebook handles, says, Itsekiri should get ready for what is coming.”

“Omo-Agege claimed that Okpe people, are not Urhobos, hence other Urhobos should not vote for the Okpe man, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori. In the same vein, the Senator said in the past that there is no Itsekiri community in Delta Central, claiming all the communities in Delta Central, are owned by the Urhobos”, the pro Itsekiri group, alleged.
