Oborevwori: Going to court will be an exercise in futility, Pirah advises opposition

Three-time former member of Delta State Executive Council and Coordinator of Warri South-West PDP Campaign Committee in the just concluded 2023 general elections, Hon. Omamofe Joseph Pirah, has advised members of the opposition political parties in Delta State, seeking to challenge the victory of Delta State Governor-Elect, Rt. Hon. Sherriff Francis Oborevwori in court, to drop their intentions, saying, “going to court, will be an exercise in futility, because the election was too clear for anybody to think, he can have judgment through the back door.”

Hon. Pirah, who gave the advice in an exclusive telephone chat with Fresh Angle International this evening, Wednesday March 22, posited: “APC is in the Federal and we (PDP) in the state, I challenge those (APC members) at the Federal, to attract development from the centre to the state, while we at the state level, will accelerate development across the state.”

While thanking God for seeing Peoples Democratic Party, PDP through as it relates to the electoral victory, Hon. Pirah, described the incoming governor, Rt. Hon. Sherriff Oborevwori, “as a child of Grace, even though some people might not like him.”

“We were supporting various aspirants, before Sherriff emerged as the PDP flag bearer, so as a die-hard PDP member, we had to follow and say let God’s will be done. Sherriff is purely a Warri Boy.

“I was resolute and determined, despite overtures by members of the opposition to make me leave PDP. I don’t have any reason to leave PDP, I am somebody today in Delta State, because I was built by PDP, first under the leadership of Dr. Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan, who is the immediate past Governor of Delta State, from SA to Chief James Ibori.

“I was touched when we lost the Presidential election.  It was good that people of Delta State came out to vote for Sherriff”, he explained.

While congratulating Rt. Hon. Oborevwori, Hon. Pirah, asserted: “I want to appreciate the governor of Delta State, Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa, for his understanding and support for seeing us through. Sherriff will do more and he will bring Warri, Effurun and Udu axis back to life.”
