Delta Council for Islamic Affairs, assures Oborevwori, Guwor, of support


 

The umbrella body in-charge of the Muslims in Delta State, Delta State Council for Islamic Affairs, DSCIA, has congratulated Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, the new Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, as well as the current Secretary to Delta State Government, Dr. Kingsley Emu, assuring them of the support of Muslims in the state.

 

DSCIA, in a statement made available to Our Principal Correspondent, Friday June 16, also felicitated with members of Delta State House of Assembly, wishing them fruitful tenure and development-driven representation.

 

In the statement, which was signed by the Chairman, Delta State Council for Islamic Affairs, DSCIA, Sheikh Yahaya Mohammed Ufuoma and the Secretary-General, Alhaji Ahmed Alakpa, members of DSCIA, assured Governor Oborevwori that they will contribute meaningfully to his administration’s success and the overall advancement of the state.

 

They called on Muslims in Delta State, to cooperate with the state government, to ensure sustained peace and security in the state.

 

The statement reads: "We are also using this medium to call on all the Muslims in the state to cooperate with the new government and be law abiding. As stated in the Qur'an chapter 4:59, Allah the Almighty said: Obey Allah and his messenger (Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him) and those in authorities."

 

They urged the state government to continually support the group and improve on welfare of their members.
