Political Parties and Political Actors engaged in the forthcoming November Governorship Election in Kogi State, have been cautioned against inciting violence before, during and after the election.
Our Kogi State Correspondent, reports that Babatunde Ishola, AIG Zone 8, gave the warning on Wednesday at a stakeholders meeting on Election Security with the theme: Strengthening Community engagement towards a violence free November 2023 Governorship election in Kogi State.
The AIG warned political parties and actors against self help during the forthcoming November Governorship Election, just as he described election security as everybody's business
Ishola said security agencies would adopt zero tolerance approach to snatching of ballot boxes, adding that campaigns should be issues based.
The AIG promised that the highest level of professionalism would be displayed by the security agencies during the Kogi Governorship Election.
While admonishing politicians to follow the rule of law, the AIG assured that everyone vote in the forthcoming Kogi Governorship Election must count.
The AIG who assured of a credible and peaceful Governorship election, promised that more men would be deployed to the State for adequate security.
He stressed that security agencies is working tirelessly to stem violence in the forthcoming November governorship election.
In his welcome remarks, the Kogi State Police Command, Hakeem Yusuf, said the meeting with stakeholders is strategic, assuring that the command is ready to conduct credible Governorship election in Kogi State.
