I remain Chairman of NYCN in Kogi- Usman Ogohi

Embattled Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria in Kogi State, (NYCN) Ambassador Usman Ogohi has admonished the general public to disregard the purported news of his suspension from office.

Our Kogi State Correspondent, reports that the statement on Tuesday evening noted that, the embattled Chairman was suspended from office over allegations of misappropriation of fund, high-handedness, rascality and the stagnant laid against his administration.

But, in a rejoinder sent to our correspondent on Wednesday titled " Disregard the purported suspension; 'I am still the Chairman of the Kogi State Chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria"Ogohi said those circulating the news of his suspension are some self-serving members within the council who are ungrateful for the unwavering support and assistance he have received from the Kogi State Government.

Speaking on some of the allegations levelled against him that led to his suspension, Ogohi said "To put the record straight, except for some individuals whose selfish interest has been relegated against the good of all Kogi Youth, the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Kogi State chapter, has not in any way lost its glory under my leadership and I will continue to be resolute in representing Kogi Youth I swore an oath to protect following the exemplary style of His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello.

"Part of the group claim was that, as the Chairman I made inciteful statements capable of causing disunity amongst the youths and the government of the day. They also said the Council has been reduced to a one-man show/autocracy.

" I will respond by saying that anyone who has proof should likewise quote or go on air with it. As regards my one-man show and autocracy, I want the public to know that my actions and style of leadership has been guided by the Constitution of the Council while also not failing to consult when necessary.

"For the accusation of maladministration, highhandedness, misappropriation of funds, and administrative rascality', I will urge them to come out clear with evidence of past antecedents, except we they are saying we have no active state executives, LG coordinators, or other elected stakeholders"

According to him, despite any attempts to tarnish the council's image or create confusion, he would continue to hold the mandate and represent over 2.5 million Kogi Youth.

He called on all members of the council and the general public to remain united and focused on its collective goal of empowering Kogi youth and fostering their development.
