The Kogi State House of Assembly has vowed to bring to book any individual looting the State Treasury.
Our Kogi State Correspondent, reports that the Chairman, House committee on Public Account, Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Otokiti Alhassan Zakariya disclosed while briefing Assembly press corp on Thursday.
He noted that, the eight Assembly is aware of some sharp practices being perpetuated by fraudulent individuals in the State adding that, anyone found wanting will face the full wrath of the law.
Hon. Zakariya, who is the current member representing Okehi State Constituency noted that the house will continue to collaborate with other arms of Government toward curbing corruption in Kogi State.
Explaining further, the first time lawmaker said "Legislative business involves making laws, bringing up good motions and bills. In oversight function, all we are going to do is to look into ministries, parastatals, by constantly checking their account records, to make sure things go well, to avert any form of corruption.
"We know that wherever you are in a position were cash flows, there is bound to be sharp practices. We are going to do the needful through our oversight function by ensuring that, all the account records of ministries will be looked into without any sentiment.
"We are going to do it judiciously by not witch hunting any individual irrespective of their position in the State. We will be very clear and open. Anybody who intends to embark on sharp practices or loot our money and resources for private use will be brought to book in accordance to the law".
