NSCDC parades four suspects for alleged Cyber Crime in Kogi


Kogi State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has paraded four suspects for alleged involvement in Cyber Crimes.

 

Parading the suspect at the Command headquarters in Lokoja, the State Commandant of NSCDC, Ahmad Ghandi Ahmad, said the suspects were arrested through forensic investigation by a combined team of the Command's intelligence personnel and other units at their various hideouts.

 

Commandant Ahmad Ghandi Ahmad said the suspects; Nelly Lamidi, female, stole a phone and sold it to Isaiah David, who with his brother Isaiah Sunday used the same for cyber crimes activities thereby defrauding unsuspected members of the public especially foreigners.

 

Also paraded is one Ahmed Dantata, a twenty-six years old, who was arrested for theft, criminal trespass and cyber crime related offences.

 

The Commandant urged parents and guardians to be more involved in the activities of their children, to guide them against getting involved in criminal activities.

 

He reassured members of the public of the Command readiness to continue to tackle all forms of crimes and criminality across the State in its bid to sustain the relative peace in Kogi State.

 

The Commandant said that all the suspects would be charged to Court under the Cybercrime Act at the Federal High Court, Lokoja upon completion of investigation.

 

Speaking in an interview, the Suspects all confessed to be involved in cybercrime activities.
