A kidnap suspect identified simply as Godstime has died after an alleged gun duel with the Police, while two other members of his gang escaped as the Police rescued the kidnap victim, one Mrs. Joseph Otomewo, Fresh Angle International can report
The suspect reportedly died on the way to the hospital. He alongside members of his gang on Monday July 11 invaded the house of one Engineer Joseph Otomewo (husband to the victim) at Ogini Road, Oghara, Delta State and kidnapped the woman. She was reportedly taken away to unknown destination in her Lexus Jeep with Reg. No. GRA 911 KH.
According to a Statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer Delta State Command, SP Celestina Kalu, with the assistance of local vigilante, the Police Patrol team trailed the abductors who called for ransom to their Ologbo bush hideout (a Boundary town between Edo and Delta States) and engaged the hoodlums in shoot-out.
The statement added that items recovered from the suspect included one locally made pistol with one cartridge and handset robbed from the victim.
Meanwhile, investigation has been intensified to track down the fleeing hoodlums who were said to have driven the stolen vehicle towards Benin City, Edo State.
