The member representing Etsako Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Philip Shaibu, has berated the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP over comments credited to the PDP Vice Chairman of Edo North, Mr. Segun Saiki, wherein he was quoted to have said, “PDP will give Oshiomhole an embarrassing send-off from Edo North.”

The lawmaker in a Press Statement made available to Fresh Angle International, declared “PDP will not have any vote from Edo North in the forth-coming September election and advised PDP members to stop day- dreaming and building castles in the air”.

He described the comment credited to Saiki as “an expression of fear”, saying “PDP as a party has made corruption a Soap-opera and a religion”.

Hon. Shaibu, a former Majority Leader of Edo State House of Assembly and running mate to Mr. Godwin Obaseki, APC gubernatorial candidate in the forthcoming September 2016 governorship election, described “PDP as sore point in the Nigerian script. The PDP are power mongers who cleaved to power, abused their offices and desecrated the sanctity of democratic ethos”.

Hon. Philip Shaibu averred, “the people of Edo North have vowed to resist the presence of PDP from every household and street”, adding that, “the crowd that was present at the PDP flag of in Auchi was a rented crowd from neighbouring states who had no idea of the efforts of Governor Adams Oshiomhole”.

According to him, “during the PDP era, Edo State was in murky waters until the APC took over to deliver the State. We need a personality like Mr. Godwin Obaseki who has the dexterity, uncommon tact and the blazing determination of a cerebral mind to pilot the state to a safe destination”.
