The Kogi State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA has impounded 100 bags of Cannabis Sativa popularly called Indian hemp worth five million naira, Our Roving National Correspondent reports.
The substance weighing 1,126.9kg was seized following the arrest of four suspects at different flash points in Kogi State.
The Kogi State Commandant of NDLEA, Alhaji Idris Bello at a briefing in Lokoja Wednesday August 10, said the agency will continue to step up in the war against illicit use of drugs, warning those who are into the illegal business to desist forthwith or relocate from Kogi State.
Alhaji Idris Bello explained that his men on patrol nabbed one Ismaila Abdullahi in kabba Junction who was transporting Indian Hemp from Uromi, Edo State to Kaduna State.

The suspect who was the driver of a truck with plate number Katsina XB 511 KTW built a compartment to beat security intelligence, even as it was discovered that apart from the bags of thread package outside the truck, they were other unlawful substances.
He maintained the accomplice of Abdullahi who drove a Saloon Car to place surveillance on security operatives are currently on the run.
The suspect, Ismaila Abdullahi while admitting he has been in the unlawful business for more than two years, claimed that one Ibrahim who is currently at large agreed to pay him N250,000 for transporting the product but he only collected N20,000 before his arrest.
The Command also arrested one Saidu Mohammed Bello aka Wazobia in Koton Karfe on the 4th of August with 9kg of Cannabis.
Saidu Bello said he was into the business because he was nursing the ambition of becoming the Governor of Kogi State.
Our Correspondent reports that other suspects arrested are: Osuporu Wale from Zango Ofere in Kabba Bunu with 200grms of Indian herm and Wale Adebisi of Akotukpa in Kabba Bunu with 7kgs of the same substance.
