Socio-Economic Lockdown: NAIG, Wood, Mene, Omaghomi move to fashion out way forward for Itsekiri

In what can be described as gathering of selected intellectual properties in Itsekiri land, the National Association of Itsekiri Graduates, NAIG has concluded arrangements to stage a One-day Town Hall Meeting in Warri with the Theme: “NAIG As a Tool for Socio-Economic Development in Iwere Land”.

Fresh Angle International gathered that seasoned Engineer in the Oil and Gas Industry and current Executive Director, Planning, Research and Statistics in the Board of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Engr. Victor Wood, prominent member of the respected Itsekiri Leaders of Thought, ILOT and Educationist, Mr. A.S. Mene, widely traveled Environmentalist and supporter of education-driven projects, Mr. David Omaghomi as well as Mr. Sam Atsepoyi are facilitators of the programme slated for 10:00am Saturday October 1, 2016 at the King George IV Hall, Warri South Local Government Council Sub Secretariat, Warri, Delta State.

In a statement made available to Fresh Angle International, National President of NAIG, Comrade Oritsetimeyin Collins Edema explained that the essence of the talk-shop include the repositioning of “NAIG as a platform for the future of the Iwere child”, restructuring “NAIG in-line with current challenges facing the Itsekiri Nation”, as well as “to make NAIG a Training Base for Entrepreneurial and Human Capacity Building”.

The statement further noted that key activities billed to take place as part of the intellectual talk-shop will include “Luncheon of Adopt A Child: Education & Health Care Project”, addressing NAIG and the Itsekiri leadership question with a view to finding a way forward as well as reviewing the challenges facing Itsekiri Nation generally.
