A Soldier in Warri, Delta State, was beaten and almost lynched at Deco Plaza, Warri in the early hours of Monday, November 7 for allegedly stealing an I-Phone, Fresh Angle International can report.
A source who spoke on anonymity disclosed that the owner of the stolen i-Phone 7 Plus recognised the alleged thief to be the person who robbed her of the phone on Sunday and had obviously come to wipe off the information on the phone.
The woman immediately raised an alarm as the soldier who was on camoflague soldier polo made an attempt to escape but he was chased, caught and beaten till he sustained severe injures all over his body. He escaped again while the mobs were on his heels as they caught him close to Major General David Ejoor’s residence even as Soldiers from the compound as well as other Police operatives came to his rescue.
Our Source confided that sympathizers put a call through to retired Major General David Ejoor and Soldiers from his compound came to the rescue of their colleague. They took him to the Major Ejoh’s compound and he stayed there until his colleagues from the Barrack came to take him back to his base.
Our Correspondent gathered that a few minutes later, a Military Van allegedly belonging to 3 Battalion of the Nigerian Army came to pick the rescued suspect to the Barrack.
As at the time of filing this report, the both parties could not be reached for briefing.
