A suspected Benin Electricity Distribution Company, BEDC Transformer thief (name unknown) have been nabbed at the Jeddo Housing Estate accommodating Airforce Men in Jeddo, Okpe Local Government Area, Fresh Angle International can exclusively report.
The suspect according to eye witnesses came around 8:00am Monday, December 12 with a Mini Crane to lift the BEDC Transformer, but was apprehended by the Officers and Men of Nigeria Airforce at the Housing Estate in Jeddo who immediately swung into action.
The BEDC security man on duty told Our Senior Correspondent that the suspect is a specialist in stealing of transformer and also a contractor with Income Electric, alleging further that the suspect was the one who supplied as well as run the line from Jeddo to Ughoton, Egbokodo, Omadino and Obodo 33KVA line some years back.
According to him, the suspect wore fake BEDC Identity Card and the Oletu as well as Acting Unuevwero of Jeddo, Mr. Patrick Mukoro was contacted to have a firsthand view of the incident.
It was also alleged that an army truck was seen roving from one point to the other during the suspect’s operation, but when they were caught for interrogation, four others and the army truck ran away.
