The Chairman of Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, Delta State Council, Comrade Churchill Oyowe, has advised Deltans to embrace the spirit of unity, regardless of religious affiliation.
Comrade Oyowe, gave the advice in a message to Muslims and Deltans, in commemoration of the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
He stated: “I extend warm greetings to our Muslim brothers and sisters, as well as to all Deltans on the celebration of this year's Eid-el-Fitr.
“In this diverse and vibrant state, we celebrate the richness of our cultural and religious diversity. As Muslims, your faith and traditions have become integral part of the fabric of our society, and we value the contributions you make to our communities.
“I encourage all Deltans, regardless of religious affiliation, to embrace the spirit of unity, understanding, and mutual respect. Let us continue to work together to build a peaceful and prosperous Delta State, where everyone can thrive and contribute to the progress of our beloved state.
“As we celebrate and observe important religious occasions, let us also remember the values of compassion, empathy, and solidarity. Let us extend a hand of friendship and support to one another, and strive to create a society where everyone feels included and valued.
“I wish our Muslim brothers and sisters a blessed and joyous celebration, and I urge all Deltans to join hands in fostering harmony, tolerance, and cooperation across our communities.
“Together, let us build a Delta State that is a shining example of unity in diversity.”
