LG Poll: Scores of women march Warri streets for Omatsuli

Scores of women cutting across the 19 wards that make up Warri South Local Government Area in Delta State on Friday January 27 marched through Ajamimogha, Okere Market Square, Okere Road, Warri-Sapele Road, Warri Garage, McDermott Road, Iyara, Cemetery Road, Igbudu and terminated at Market Road, calling on a former Chief Whip of Warri South Legislative Arm, Hon. Griftson Omatsuli to vie for Warri South Chairmanship seat in the next Local Government poll in Delta State.

The women led by Funmi Okimiji carried placards with inscriptions such as “vote Hon. Griftson Omatsuli AKA Osio for Chairman, Warri South Local Government Area 2017”, “the man after our heart, Hon. Omatsuli Griftson A.K.A Osio is our choice for Warri South Chairmanship”and“vote Griftson for Chairman, Warri South Local Government”.

Speaking to newsmen on behalf of the women, Funmi Okimiji vowed that they will continue to “rally for the Warri South Chairmanship hopeful, Hon. Griftson Omatsuli until he wins at the Local Government poll”.

According to her, among those aspiring to occupy the Warri South Council plum job, “Hon. Griftson Omatsuli is the most qualified, honest, straight forward, easily accessible and has the pains of women at heart always”.

Hon. Griftson Omatsuli who expressed surprise at the clarion call by the women and other categories of people in the area for him to vie for the Warri South Chairmanship seat in the next local government election, assured that he will be Chairman for all if elected as the Council Boss.

The three-time Councilor, immediate past Executive Secretary of Local Education Authority, Warri South Local Government Area as well as renowned community leader, promised to continue his passion for women empowerment and job creation for people of Warri if given the mandate.
