Attack on Olu of Warri: UNDR fires back at NDSF, says “PINL have no job in Delta state”

The United Niger Delta Republic, UNDR, has fired back at the Niger Delta Stakeholders’ Forum, NDSF, over NDSF’s claim that the Olu of Warri Olu, Ogiame Atuwase III, is, “using his company-- Pipelines Infrastructures Nigeria Limited (PINL) to Pocket billions of Naira every month, doing nothing about the Pipeline Surveillance Contract awarded to him by the Federal Government.”

The United Niger Delta Republic, UNDR, in an interview with newsmen, Wednesday May 1, described the accusation by NDSF as misrepresentation of fact, saying Pipelines Infrastructure Nigeria Limited, PINL does not have pipeline security job in Delta state, rather, “it is a sister-company, Ocean Marine Solutions Limited, OMS, that has been handling the Trans-Forcados Pipeline Surveillance in Delta State.”

Leader of UNDR, General Three Lions of Niger Delta, who made the clarification, rubbished the argument by the Niger Delta Stakeholders’ Forum, NDSF that Pipelines Infrastructure Nigeria Limited handles 80% of the entire surveillance contract in the Niger Delta, insisting: “I don't know where they got those figures from, because Tantita is handling part of Bayelsa, Delta and Ondo States, while Pipelines Infrastructure Nigeria Limited, is handling Rivers, parts of Bayelsa and Imo.

“Pipelines Infrastructure Nigeria Limited, is different from Ocean Marine Solutions Limited, OMS. Ocean Marine Solutions, coincidentally is owned by same Director/Chairman, Subdirectory that still have shares in Pipelines Infrastructure. So, you cannot marry both.

"Ocean Marine Solutions Limited, is a sister-company to Pipelines Infrastructure, but the contract in Delta State, has nothing to do with PINL.”

General Three Lions of Niger Delta, added: “In the Bayelsa, Rivers and Imo, no Itsekiri person has a job there. That is to tell you that all the subcontractors we have there, are being run by the Southern Ijaws (the ones in Bayelsa) and Igbos. That means we engage subcontractors in-line with the Local Content Act.

“I challenge the so-called NDSF to bring the number of Itsekiris that is up to 12,000 they claim is working for Tantita, because it is obvious that their submission is false, when we critically look at the areas their job specification entails.

“I have a question for them (NDSF) it would also interest you to know, Pipelines Infrastructure as we speak, is not owing any of its subcontractors till date. But Tantita is owing more than 6-7months to its subcontractors, what do they have to say about that? Besides, PINL pays to Southern Ijaws, the Igbos, to the Ikweres and the Rivers Ijaw. How many stakeholders in the Itsekiri axis, Urhobo axis and Ilaje axis, do Tantita pay to?.

“Tantita seizes vessels and the documents are never seen. I don't know who empowered Tantita to do that. What Tantita was contracted to do, is to protect the pipelines and when they arrest, they are to hand over the suspects to the relevant security authorities. Why were they having issues with the Nigerian Navy 24/7? They have repeatedly accused the Nigerian Navy of conspiracy in terms of crude oil theft, which is not true. If they want us to wash our dirty linens outside, we will. When you arrest and burn vessels without releasing the evidence, who do you give the crude to?”
