Ekpoko succeeds Ayomike as Chairman of ILOT

Renowned legal practitioner and Chairman of Ijaw, Isoko and Itsekiri Leaders’ Forum, Chief Edward Ekpoko has emerged the new Chairman of the respected Itsekiri Leaders of Thought, ILOT, Fresh Angle International can authoritatively report.

Chief Ekpoko’s emergence was sequel to a request by veteran historian and author, Pa. J.O.S. Ayomike, who was the fourth Chairman of ILOT to step aside after over ten years of serving Itsekiri Nation, Delta State and the country at large.

A statement made available to Fresh Angle International and signed by Tony Ede, revealed that Chief F.E Rewane who turns 87 years in April 2017 has “equally requested to take a back-seat” in the body by relinquishing her position as Treasurer.

The statement noted that while Chief Edward Ekpoko, a former Secretary of ILOT and Chairman of Warri Study Group will pilot the affairs of Itsekiri Leaders of Thought, ILOT henceforth, seasoned educationist, Sir A.S.Mene has been appointed as new Secreatry  of the revered Itsekiri body.

The decision to effect the leadership change was taken at an expanded meeting held Sunday February 5 in Warri, Delta State.
