Exactly ten days to the Delta State local government election fixed for Saturday July 13, the All Progressives Congress Chairmanship candidate for Warri South Local Government Area, Prince Francis Yonwuren, has donated fifty classroom chairs and tables to Delta State government owned Agbeje Primary School, Ugbuwangue in Warri.

Our Senior Roving Correspondent reports that the donation which was part of efforts by the APC Chairmanship candidate to promote quality education in Warri South, was done yesterday, Wednesday July 3, when Prince Yonwuren and his campaign team, visited Agbeje Primary School, Ugbuwangue.

Speaking on behalf of the team, Acting Director-General of the Prince Francis Yonwuren Campaign team, Hon. Kingsley Tenumah, said the classroom chairs and tables, were part of Prince Yonwuren’s contributions to the development of education at the grassroots.

He stated that securing a conducive environment for learning, is key in the 21st century, saying, “It is sad to note that there are so many children without tables and chairs for learning; they sit on the bare floor. No amount of learning can be done when children are sitting on the bare floor.

“That is why Francis Yonwuren has found it befitting to bring these chairs, tables, and educational toys to aid the children.

“He has used this to demonstrate what he is going to do for schools in Warri, when he is elected as Chairman of Warri South.”

Hon. Tenumah, urged the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission, DSIEC, to conduct a credible election, to safeguard the children's future.

“The joy of the children, represents a potent message to DSIEC to conduct free and fair elections across the state; whatever DSIEC does, will have a positive or negative effect on the children,” Tenumah, noted.

The Assistant Head Teacher of Agbeje Primary School, Ugbuwangue, Mrs. Hope Eyeregba, thanked the Prince Francis Yonwuren campaign team for the donations, assuring them of their support in the upcoming election.

Fresh Angle International, can report that the campaign team also went to Igbudu Market to feed people living with disabilities and children.

During the visit, Prince Francis Yonwuren expressed his sympathy with traders who lost their properties in the fire outbreak that occurred yesterday at Nupe Line, Igbudu Market.

The Seriki of Warri and Environs, Alhaji Mohammed Bello, thanked the chairmanship candidate and his team for their gesture, by feeding the children and persons with disabilities, just as he sympathized with the traders who lost their wares to the fire outbreak.

Responding on behalf of the family, Mr. Philip Akinsa, commended the APC chairmanship candidate for coming to visit, despite their political differences, saying, “In this clime where we allow politics of bitterness, I never expected that someone in the opposition would come and express condolences.

“I commend your maturity; your visit today has helped minimize the pain for us. I pray that God will grant you victory in the election,”

The Prince Yonwuren campaign team also visited the youths of Ugbuwangue and assured them of his commitment to ensuring accountability in the management of the council’s affairs.
