Lawmaker under fire for illegal possession of land

The Councilor representing Ward 9, Okpanam in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon. Alex Chibuzor Okocha is under fire over alleged illegal entry of a landed property purportedly belonging to one Ndubuisi Nkenchor, Fresh Angle International has gathered.

According to report, the legislator allegedly uses his position to illegally possess lands from original owners in Okpanam near Asaba.

Ndubuisi Nkenchor in a petition to the Police at Okpanam through his lawyer has demanded immediate removal of all structures erected on his parcel of land within forty-eight hours, claiming he inherited the said land from his late father, Fredrick Nkenchor.

It was gathered that the petitioner had erected a building on the land which is presently housing his mother, Caroline Nkenchor and the younger brother, Jude Nkenchor.

According to report, when Jude Nkenchor wanted to make inquiries why the councilor erected structure on the disputed land without the consent of his elder brother, Ndubuisi Nkenchor, he was allegedly beaten by thugs believed to be loyal to the councilor.

The Police reportedly arrested some of the thugs that attacked Jude Nkenchor, but they were later released on bail after statements were taken from them.
