Ughelli South LG Chairman, Avweromre declares: My administration will not compromise on efficient healthcare delivery

The Chairman of Ughelli South Local Government, Dr Lucky Avweromre, says his administration, will not compromise in the resolve to deliver efficient primary healthcare service.

Our Ughelli South Bureau Chief, reports that Dr. Avweromre, made the commitment Monday August 19, when he played host to the Executive Secretary of the Primary Health Authority in Ughelli South Local Government, Ekpekurede Afoke, who also doubles as the Local Government Area Facilitator from World Health Organization, WHO

The Ughelli South Council Boss, who emphasized that primary healthcare is very essential to the grassroots, stated: “Ughelli South is a rural local government and my administration will not compromise the issue of health care of the people.”

According to Dr. Avweromre, the funds made available for health care, are always inadequate, blaming the inadequacy on implementation.

Whilst stating that the people are supposed to be involved in the policy formulation, the Chairman, assured that his administration would do everything possible to give the people of Ughelli South quality health care.

The Local Government Area Facilitator from WHO, Ekpekurede Afoke, high-lighted some of the challenges being faced in the course of delivering efficient primary healthcare, appealing to Local Government Boss, to support in the area of recruiting more qualified health personnel.

Afoke, implored Dr. Avweromre to assist in the increase of manpower to ensure that the upcoming measles campaign exercise, is a huge success in Ughelli South.

Fresh Angle International, can report that the Head of Personnel Management of Ughelli South Local Government Council, Chief Austin Emaduku, Executive Secretary of the Health Agency, Dr. Oyawiri Aghogho, Apex Nurse, Mrs. Grace Edoh, LIO and Mrs. Arisabor O, were among those present, during the visit.
