Delta State Government, has called on Deltans to report any request for financial inducement in the Delta State Community for Resilience and Economic Stimulus (Delta-Cares) programme, saying the programme does not charge or collect any form of payment from beneficiaries.
Fresh Angle International, can report that the warning was contained in a statement released Monday September 23, by the Delta State Ministry of Information.
The statement, which was e-signed by the Director of Public Communication/Fn. Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Theresa Adiabua Oliko, noted: “It is hereby announced for the information of the public, particularly Deltans, that the Delta State Community for Resilience and Economic Stimulus (Delta-Cares) programme, which is a partnership programme between the Delta State Government and Foreign Donor Partners aimed at empowering vulnerable individuals and communities across the state, wishes to state emphatically that the programme does not charge or collect any form of payment from beneficiaries who have already been paid through any of its delivery platforms.
“The Chairman of the State Cares Steering Committee and Commissioner for Economic Planning, Mr. Sonny Ekedayen warns that any individual found engaging in the extortion of members of the public using the programme as cover will face strict legal consequences.
“Members of the public are by this announcement urged to be vigilant and report any person attempting to extort money or undermine the integrity of this laudable initiative which was launched by His Excellency, the Governor, to improve the life of Deltans.
“Therefore, The D-CARES Programme remains a transparent and accountable initiative.
“Members of the public are hereby enjoined to report any request for financial inducement to submit their names as beneficiaries to the programme, to: Delta State CARES Coordinating Unit (SCCU), 1st Floor, Olorogun Felix Ibru Secretariat Complex, Maryam Babangida Way, Asaba, Delta State.”
