Vice President of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, Bishop Simeon Okah has denied calling on the Buhari administration to prosecute former Rivers State Governor and present Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi over corruption allegations.
The Cleric in a statement signed by his Media Assistant, Jude Okechukwu denied labelling Amaechi corrupt, noting that he was misunderstood and misrepresented by newsmen during an earlier briefing.
“It is not my place to label anyone as corrupt or otherwise, it is the court that should do that. And in the case under reference, I did not refer to Chibuike Amaechi as corrupt; I was obviously misunderstood and misinterpreted by media people who listened to me. It’s unfortunate”, the statement declared inter-alia.
“How can I possibly declare former Governor Amaechi corrupt and should be prosecuted? How can I make such declaration even if his political opponents have been alluding to such? Is that enough for me to dabble in and take a stand based on hearsay? Bishop Okah queried.
Fresh Angle International gathered that certain news outlets, especially online media recently published screaming headlines, claiming Bishop Okah canvassed for the prosecution of the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi because he was said to be corrupt while he served as Governor of Rivers State.
