Nine students with First Class Honors, 39 with Second Class Honors (Upper Division) 22 with Second Class Honors (Lower Division) and four with Third Class, are to graduate from Dominican University Ibadan, DUI, in the 2023/2024 academic session.
Fresh Angle International, can report that this much was disclosed during a press conference held at DUI Monday December 2, by the Vice Chancellor of the Institution, Prof. Jacinta Opara.
Whilst explaining that the press conference was to prepare for the momentous occasion of the combined 3rd & 4th convocation ceremonies of DUI slated for Saturday December 7, Prof. Opara, noted: “On the forthcoming combined 3rd & 4th Convocation Ceremonies on December 07, 2024, we are releasing 134 young people into the world of work with confidence that they will continue to grow and flourish, making a lasting impact on our community and the world.
“In the last academic session 2022/2023, we graduated (60) students: Philosophy (25), Mass Communication (14), Economics (3), Accounting (2) and Computer Science (16). Among these students, 4 had first class honors, 37 had second class honors (upper division), 15 had second class honors (lower division) and 5 with third class.
“This academic session 2023/2024, we are graduating (74) students: Philosophy (27), Christian Religion Studies (2), Mass Communication (9), Economics (2), Accounting (3), Business Administration (1) Computer Science (8) and HND-B.Sc Conversion programmes (22). From this academic session, we have 9 students with first class honors, 39 with second class honors (upper division), 22 have second class honors (lower division) and 4 with third class.”
She added: “We have lined up events as follows:
“On Wednesday December 04, 2024, we shall have sports; Football match, Dominican University (DU) vs University of Ibadan (UI) and Volleyball game, DU vs UI by 3:00pm
“Friday December 06, 2024, Interaction with benefactors by 12noon
“Saturday December 07, 2024, is the combined 3rd &4th convocation ceremonies. There will be presentation of degrees and honorary awards by 11:00am
“On Sunday December 08, 2024, we shall conclude with a thanksgiving mass. The chief celebrant is Very Rev.Fr. Modestus Ngwu, OP at Dominican Community Chapel by 8:00am.”
