We are determined to restructure, unify Delta Obidients ahead 2027- Emerure vows

The Chairman of the Obidient United Support Group, OUSG under the Obidient Movement in Delta State, Comrade Favour Emerure, says the aim of the group is to formally harmonize, restructure and unify Delta Obidients across the 25 Local Government Areas in the state, ahead 2027.

Our Principal Correspondent, reports that Comrade Emerure, gave the explanation Saturday December 7 at Ughelli, during a Town Hall meeting organized by the Obidient United Support Group, OUSG Delta State Chapter.

He pointed out that the meeting would give room for open minded suggestions in strategizing for 2027 general elections.

According to Comrade Emerure, the Obidient movement, also aimed at fostering good governance and accountability through grassroots engagement, dedication to promoting unity, justice and equity in the quest for a better Delta State and better Nigeria.

Comrade Mirabel Imoto, who spoke on the journey so far on the Obidient United Support Group, said members should not be deterred as the struggle continues, saying Rome wasn't built in a day and the movement is ready to dismantle those she referred to as 'corrupt politicians' running the affairs of the country.

Comrade Josiah Omenowoma, in his speech titled "Honesty and Righteousness", said he rejected former Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa appointing him as Special Assistant, SA, because “Delta State and Nigeria are going down.”

Comrade Emenuwoma, who was disappointed with elected Labour Party members in the House of Representatives, “for agreeing to every nonsense in the House”.

He cautioned those who want to join APC to go and leave the LP before 2027, appealing to more Nigerians to join LP.

The Labour Party chieftain, stressed the need for Mr. Peter Obi and LP National Chairman, Abure to settle their differences and work together ahead the 2027 polls.

While Speaking on Quest for Good Governance, Mr. Nwanne Utomi, who joined the meeting via zoom from the USA, posited that good governance is attainable, if "we sweep away corruption.”

While acknowledging that corruption is everywhere, including United States, Mr. Utomi, added that quality education, social security and lack of insurgency, will reflect Mr. Peter Obi's good governance model, if given the opportunity to be President.

Chairman, Obidient United Support Group Elders’ Council, Chief Chris Biose, appealed to members to give the Chairman the needed support and urged members to respect authority.

He strongly stated that 'APC, PDP' will never change, vowing that LP will match them, commending Mr. Josiah Emenuwoma for declining Okowa’s appointment as SA.

Speaking on the subject, ‘Building on Formidable Grassroots Political Structure’, Dr. Chukwudi Analo, identified lack of structure as the main challenge they faced in the last election and expressed optimism that LP structure will get better, going forward.

Delta State LP Governorship candidate in the last election, Ken Pela, pushed for unity of members of the LP Movement, in their quest for a better Delta State in particular and Nigeria as a whole.
